A good friend recently asked me to get involved with a pro bono project going on this week, renovating the Nicholas House. Room Service Atlanta is sponsoring this event, drawing together designers to update and freshen the rooms of this 108-year-old home. Nicholas House, as I just found out, is a homeless shelter which gives families a home and a hand in gaining self-sufficiency.
- Room Service Atlanta co-founder Dayka Robinson washing the ceiling
- Angela Blehm works on cleaning the windows and walls
- mother and daughter team Bonnie and Kari Fisher painting a bedroom
- Mark Maturo of Simple Floors installing new flooring
- Debbie Ferguson of Simple Floors hauls a load of flooring
My focus is to photograph the designers at work, the rooms as they looked during the process, and I will be heading back later this week to document the progress. Stay tuned! Or get involved, contact Yvonne Druyeh at 404/622-0793 to see what you can do for them.
As an architectural photographer, I generally see the completed projects, so this was fun for me to watch the interior designers, painters and flooring experts work their magic.
